Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Clamp your bike into a repair stand.
Step2
Remove the cranks and bottom bracket (see Related eHows).
Step3
Remove the seat post.
Step4
Remove the fork (optional).
Step5
Spray the inside of the frame with your choice of oil, WD-40 or Boeshield. If you have an air compressor, you can help spread the oil around by shooting compressed air into the tubes.
Step6
Make sure the oil gets everywhere inside the frame. Turn the frame upside down, sideways and so on.
Step7
Let it dry for a while if you use WD-40 or Boeshield.
Step8
Grease the seat post and seat tube and reinstall the seat post.
Step9
Grease the bottom bracket and reinstall it.
Step10
Reinstall the cranks.
Step11
Sand any external nicks and chips lightly, then touch them up with touch-up paint or nail polish.
Step12
Repeat the above steps at least once a year if you ride in wet conditions.
