In addition to following general guidelines to baby-proof and child-proof your home, there are special considerations when it comes to making your living and family rooms safe for your kids.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Make sure all furniture is stable and pulled away from windows.

  2. Step 2

    Pad sharp corners of walls, furniture, hearth and fireplace if needed.

  3. Step 3

    Block off fireplaces and radiators with secure screened barriers that won't tip. Be especially careful with hot floor radiators.
