Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Be creative and sew your own small hearts from red or pink material. Add a border of lace and fill it with batting. Or sew all sides but the top and fill it with candy to make a unique gift bag. Write your valentine message with fabric pen or embroider it for a very special keepsake.
Step2
Use scraps of fabric you have around the house to add to your paper valentines. Cut fabric with pinking shears to keep the edges from unraveling, or use very sharp scissors for a more detailed and precise cut.
Step3
Make hearts of different sizes from your fabric and glue them on the covers and insides of your valentines.
Step4
Try using different textures to add to the look of the card. Corduroy, satin, wool and other materials interesting to the touch will add depth to your valentine.
Step5
Glue a paper doily on top of a piece of fabric that is the same size as the doily. The fabric will provide a background to the doily and really show off its lace.
Step6
Cut some fabric in the same size as your card. Glue it to the inside or outside of the card as a background. Glue hearts, small doilies and glitter onto the fabric as you would onto the card to give it a luxurious appearance.
Step7
Cut thin strips of fabric with your pinking shears and glue them on the card as special striping.
Step8
Create a quilt cover for your valentine by cutting small squares of different fabrics and gluing them in a quilt arrangement on the cover of your card. If you are very talented, you can make a heart design with the fabric.
