      Check all electrical wires and cords for appliances that you use in the bathroom. Make sure they aren't frayed. Dispose of all broken electrical appliances.

      Make sure matches and lighters are kept out of the reach of children, if you tend to keep matches in the bathroom. Put them in high places where tiny hands can't get to them.

      Avoid using candles in the bathroom - but if you choose to use them, place candles in safe, nonflammable holders. Extinguish candles when you leave the bathroom.

      Keep all electrical appliances unplugged when not in use, and don't leave the bathroom while appliances are on.
