Things You'll Need:
- Heart Rate Monitors
- Cyclometers
- Heart Montior Bike Mount
-
Step 1
Consider how much you want to spend. Heart-rate monitors can cost as little as $50 and as much as $300.
-
Step 2
Consider what features you want. Basic models generally have only your heart rate, while more deluxe models have target zones and alarms. Others still allow you to download information to your PC.
-
Step 3
Choose a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. These are the most accurate.
-
Step 4
Consider a model that doubles as a cyclometer. If you plan to use the heart rate monitor while cycling, it may be easier to read information if it's on your bars, not on your wrist (though there are special bar-mounts for wrist watch style monitors).
-
Step 5
Ask your local bike shop or running shop to recommend one, or ask around. There are a few major brands that are considered the best.

on 1/31/2008 I recently wrote an article on walking and certainly the best way to ensure that your walking regime gives you the most benefit is to use a heart rate monitor. Certainly I have managed to increase my fitness levels and weight loss by knowing which heart rate zone I am exercising within.Walking for weight loss is the easiest, cheapest, lowest impact form of exercise to incorporate into everyday life. All the family can join in too, young and old, to either assist with your weight loss or increase overall health and fitness.
my average rate is 134/min. that is my result for walking on past 4 days' morning.
