How to Add a Date Stamp to a Web Page With FrontPage

Timestamps tell a viewer when the page was last updated ' an important feature for pages that require up-to-date information. This tutorial uses Microsoft FrontPage 2000.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Start the FrontPage program and open an existing web.

  2. Step 2

    Open the page to be edited and position the cursor where the timestamp will appear.

  3. Step 3

    Open the Insert menu and select WebBot Component. The WebBot dialog box appears.

  4. Step 4

    Select Timestamp (near the bottom) and click OK.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the appropriate radio button to choose the time display and select the display format. Click OK.

  6. Step 6

    Save the page when finished.

  7. Step 7

    Preview the page in a Web browser by choosing Preview in Browser from the File menu. From the dialog box, choose the desired browser and settings.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you choose to use to the Timestamp feature, make sure your page is updated often. Otherwise, your page will look old and out of date.
