How to Spend a Romantic Day at the Seashore

Rate: (3 Ratings)

Imagine walking barefoot on soft sand with the person you love as waves crash at your feet. This movie-perfect setting is as close to you as the nearest ocean, bay or Great Lake.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Souvenirs
  • Picnic Basket
  • Red Or White Wine
  • Bubble Baths
  • Bed-and-breakfast
  • Concert Tickets
  • Cameras

Step1
Contact any coastal area's Chamber of Commerce for a list of upcoming events, such as festivals, concerts or art exhibits. Plan your trip accordingly.
Step2
Pack your camera. Even a disposable camera should provide you with stunning shots of the seaside scenery and each other.
Step3
Plan to spend the night at a romantic bed and breakfast, where you'll hear the sounds of the seashore when you wake up. Go online for information about the best rates for B&Bs throughout the United States; be certain to make a reservation.
Step4
Stroll along the shoreline after breakfast and look for seashells to bring home as souvenirs.
Step5
Consider an afternoon picnic on the beach, if the weather is suitable.
Step6
Set aside time for shopping that will involve more than just buying a souvenir T-shirt. Look for an item that will always remind you of the sea and your day together.

Tips & Warnings

  • Expect to have a great time eating delicious chowders and other warming comfort foods. In all but the hottest areas of the United States, beach areas can become chilly by evening.
  • If you live in a wintry area, go to the shore anyway on a sunny day and bring along old boots and a heavy jacket. Just think of all the ways you can warm up later.

on 11/22/2005 Bring a musical instrument (such as a guitar) or suggest that your date brings one, if either of you know how to play. If not, perhaps bring a CD player at least.

on 11/22/2005 My boyfriend took me down the shore. We walked the boardwalk until late at night. We took salt shakers & went for a walk on the beach. He filled them up with sand and sealed them shut. We both have them by our beds so it's the last thing we see at night.
