Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Satin Ribbon
  • Tissue Paper
  • Blank Verse Greeting Cards
  • Flowers
  • Gift Bags
  • Gift Bows
  • Gold Or Silver Baskets
  • Wrapping Paper
  • Boxes Of Chocolates
  • Jewelry
  • Airline Tickets
  • Dinner Reservations
  • Movie Tickets
  • Theater Tickets
  • Shredded-paper Filling
  • Tissue paper
  • Theater tickets

    Packing the Basket

  1. Step 1

Place the most important gift on the bottom of the basket. If it is a pair of airline tickets, put them in an envelope and gift wrap it, complete with ribbon and bow. Completely cover the gift with gold or silver shredded gift wrap, to match the basket.

  2. Step 2

Arrange the other gifts in the basket, using more shredded gift wrap as filler.

  3. Step 3

Tuck the card in among the gifts.

  4. Step 4

Place the flowers across the top of the basket.

  5. Choosing the Basket and Gifts

  6. Step 1

Find a medium-sized basket in a gold or silver finish; a heart-shaped design with a handle would be perfect.

  7. Step 2

Buy a box of what you consider to be the best chocolates in the world. Don't even think of settling for a supermarket special.

  8. Step 3

Visit a jewelry store and choose sparkling jewelry for your Valentine.

  9. Step 4

Get tickets for a romantic play or movie, and make reservations for dinner at a restaurant that does not cater to children. Or, as an alternative, consider booking a dinner cruise.

  10. Step 5

Create a decorative itinerary of the final plans on your computer, place it in an envelope and gift-wrap it.

  11. Step 6

Order red roses well before February 14. Remember that you won't be the only person ordering roses for that day. Or perhaps your sweetheart would prefer a less traditional flower?

  12. Step 7

Buy a Valentine's Day card with a blank verse and write a heartfelt note.

  13. Step 8

Consider surprising your Valentine with tickets that will take the two of you to a romantic city such as New York, Paris or San Francisco. Realize that this step, and Step 4, will have to be planned carefully and as far in advance as possible.
