1. Search for an online greeting card site that you like. There are many different types of sites out there - look for one that is free to use, if possible, and that offers a selection of greetings in a style you enjoy.

2. Register with the site, if necessary - most online card sites require you to go through a basic registration process before they will send a card for you.

3. Choose the valentine that you want to send. There will probably be quite a lot to choose from, so allow some time for this, especially if you have a slow Internet connection.

4. Write and edit the message you want to send. Most online greeting card sites give you a chance to preview your message before you send it, so you can correct or delete anything you want to.

5. Customize your card in other ways, if you like. Some sites allow you to add various background colors or ornamental borders to your cards, as well as famous quotations and even music clips in some cases.
