How to Set Up a College Football Pool

Bowl time is jolly time. Increase your natural inclination to watch college football by "making things a little more interesting."

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Printer Paper
  • Printers
  • Computers
  • Party Food
  • Pens
  • Beverages
  • Internet Access
  • Televisions
  1. Step 1

    Find a list of college bowl games at ESPN.com.

  2. Step 2

    Make sure to include the Bowl Champion Series: the Orange, Fiesta, Sugar and Rose Bowls. There are a number of major and minor bowls to help fill in around these.

  3. Step 3

    Print out copies.

  4. Step 4

    Gather friends and co-workers interested in playing.

  5. Step 5

    Decide an entry amount and distribute the list.

  6. Step 6

    Choose a winner of each bowl and circle the team name.

  7. Step 7

    Collect each participant's entry amount and a copy of their list.

  8. Step 8

    Stock up on potato chips and garlic-chive dip.

  9. Step 9

    Watch every bowl game.

  10. Step 10

    Create a key by filling in the winning teams.

  11. Step 11

    Grade the entries by awarding 1 point for each correct answer.

  12. Step 12

    Award the prize to the entry with the highest total points.

  13. Step 13

    Guess at a combined total score of the two Sugar Bowl teams for use as a tiebreaker.

Tips & Warnings
  • A variation on winner-take-all is to give 75 percent of the prize to first place and 25 percent to second.
  • Take it easy on New Years' Eve or risk missing the Rose Bowl.
