Eating properly during cold weather will keep you warmer and give you more energy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Siberian Or White Korean Or Chinese Ginseng
  • Tabasco Sauce
  • Cayenne
  • Chile Peppers
  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger Teas
  • Soup
  1. Step 1

Drink plenty of water. It helps regulate your body temperature, and your skin is more prone to dehydration when it's cold out.

  2. Step 2

Eat several small meals a day to keep your blood sugar up. Snack on carbohydrates, which metabolize easily.

  3. Step 3

Cook with warming spices such as cayenne, chili peppers and cinnamon, which provide heat to the extremities.

  4. Step 4

    Limit alcohol since it's dehydrating.

  5. Step 5

Avoid having a huge meal the night before a big workout.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take Korean or Chinese ginseng, which are both warming herbs.
  • Try ginger tea. It is not a diuretic and gives you a flush of warmth.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, contact a physician or other health care professional before engaging in any activity related to health and diet. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.
