How to Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge

Add an unforgettable adventure to your trip to Sydney and scale the
Harbour Bridge. Enjoy breathtaking views of one of the world's most
beautiful harbors during the day-or the dazzling city lights by night.

Instructions

    • 1

Book your BridgeClimb online (bridgeclimb.com) well in advance. Trips fill up quickly, especially in the summer months.

    • 2

Prepare to climb come rain, hail or shine--BridgeClimb operates in all weather. In bad weather, you will be provided with rain gear, gloves and headwear. Night climbers also get a headlamp. The climb--440 feet (134 m) above sea level--takes 3 1/2 hours, including preparation time.

    • 3

Complete a climb simulator to verify that you are comfortable using the ladder and your harness. Participants are attached to a static line on the bridge throughout the climb. The climb may not be suitable for people who are not able to climb a normal ladder or who become breathless walking short distances.

Learn about the history of the bridge and facts about the city as a professionally-trained BridgeClimb leader escorts you to the summit.

Tips & Warnings

  • Relax in the sun on Bondi Beach following your climb or take a ferry ride for a closer look at the harbor. Visit Sydney.com.au or Visitnsw.com.au for more information on what to do during your stay.

  • Watch your alcohol consumption: Every participant is required to take a breath test. If your blood-alcohol limit registers over the legal driving limit of .05, you will not be allowed to climb.
