Learning to spin 180 degrees from a backward to a forward riding position on a kneeboard will prepare you for more complex spin maneuvers. Here are the basics.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Learn the front-to-back 180 (see "How to Do a Front-to-Back 180 on a Kneeboard") to get into the backward riding position.
Step2
Ride backward directly behind the boat, with your palms facing up on the handle.
Step3
Keep you head up as you begin to turn.
Step4
Release the handle with your right hand while rotating your head and torso to the left.
Step5
Lean away from the boat at all times.
Step6
Transfer your weight from the nose to the tail, remembering to lean against the pull of the rope.
Step7
Swing your right hand around to grab the handle in front of you.
Step8
Resume normal riding.

Tips & Warnings

  • Hold the handle close to your body throughout this trick.
  • Keep your head up and your eyes on the horizon.
  • Always wear a life vest when kneeboarding.
  • Kneeboarding is an inherently dangerous activity. Please seek proper training and equipment before attempting this activity.
