Use the rails of your kneeboard to steer and to control your direction.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Grasp the handle with both palms facing down or with one palm up and one palm down. Place your hands a couple of inches apart on the handle.
Step2
Turn left by pulling the handle toward your right hip and leaning your head and torso to the left.
Step3
Turn right by pulling the handle toward your left hip and leaning your head and torso to the right.
Step4
Pull and lean harder for sharper turns.
Step5
Keep your weight on the trailing rail of the board when turning.
Step6
Practice turning back and forth in a slalomlike motion.
Step7
Practice turning inside the wake before you venture outside it.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you find yourself falling backward, try keeping your arms slightly bent as you ride and lean a little less.
  • If you slide instead of turning, lean harder on your trailing rail and pull the handle more toward your opposite hip.
  • Always wear a life vest and observe proper boating safety practices when kneeboarding.
