How to Create a Dried Herbal Wreath

Once you've finished covering the wire with dried herbs and flowers, you can form the wreath into any shape you'd like - a circle, a heart or a horseshoe, for example. Or you can wrap your pretty creation around a banister or pole.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Florist Wires
  • Wreath Frames
  • Dried Flowers
  • Dried Foliage
  • Dried Herbs
  • Heavy-gauge Wires
  • Wire Cutters
  • Wire Cutters
  • Wire cutters
  1. Step 1

    Use wire cutters to cut a long strip - about 2 1/2 to 3 feet in length - of heavy-gauge wire.

  2. Step 2

    Bend each end into a hook.

  3. Step 3

    Gather dried foliage and dried flowers that are 3 inches long. For simplicity, work with three or fewer different colors of flowers.

  4. Step 4

    Arrange flowers and foliage into a pattern.

  5. Step 5

    Use florist wire to bind stems of flowers and foliage to the heavy-gauge wire.

  6. Step 6

    Cover the entire length of heavy-gauge wire with flowers and foliage, making sure to keep flowers and foliage close together to prevent gaps.

  7. Step 7

    Bend the covered heavy-gauge wire into any shape you want.

Tips & Warnings
  • Another way to make a dried herb wreath is to buy a wreath frame of straw or Spanish moss at a garden center. Insert bouquets of dried flowers throughout the wreath base.
