1
Look on the Internet for companies that sell used and reconditioned mannequin parts. Castoffs from department stores are often available.
-
2
Expect to pay between $15 and $30 for a reconditioned mannequin head.
-
-
3
Call department stores and clothing and costume shops in your area. They sometimes have old or broken mannequins they will part with for little or no money.
-
4
Look to online and local beauty- and wig-supply stores for a variety of mannequin heads. Prices range from approximately $3 for a simple Styrofoam head to about $70 for a plastic or fiberglass display model.
-
5
Look under "mannequin head" at online auctions. The choices are endless. You'll find offerings of wax, wood, composition, cloth and porcelain heads dating back to the 1930s and the 18th century and ranging in price from a few dollars to several hundred dollars.

If all you need is a head to put your wigs on, and not something more professional looking, look at beauty supply stores. Every one I've been to has had Styrofoam wig heads for no more than $3.00.
