      Determine the time in Thailand before you call. It will be 15 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time and 12 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time in the United States.

      Dial 011, the international access code.

      Dial 66, the country code of Thailand.

    • 4

      Dial the city code for the city you wish to call. Some codes for major cities include 2 for Bangkok, 36 for Saraburi and 53 for Chiang Mai.

      Dial the remaining digits.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you follow these steps but still can't connect, dial 00 and ask the international operator to help you place the call.

  • It can be very expensive to call long-distance during business hours, so try to make your phone calls in the evenings and on weekends.

    Before the city code, ie 09, you always drop the 0. Now you must insert a 8, thus becoming 89.

    In case of cell phone number. Now they have 01,05,09 ,04 (or whatever). If people said this is my cell phone number, you just omit 0. For example: 01-911-9999. When you make the call use only 661-911-9999.
