1
Prepare for warm, mild summers. Between April and September the days stay warm, but the nights can get cool. Khakis, long shorts, long- and short-sleeved shirts, casual dresses, light sweaters and a fleece jacket for layering should suffice.
-
2
Remember your sunglasses and sunscreen.

3
Pack for cool temperatures and wet skies during the fall and winter months. A warm coat, sweaters, a scarf, long pants, a lined raincoat and an umbrella are must-haves. Throw in gloves for safe measure.
-
4
Bring sandals and comfortable walking shoes to take in the sights during the spring and summer. Ankle boots and loafers with socks are wise choices for the winter months.
-
5
Dress up slightly for evenings on the town. Women will impress in a nice dress and flats, while men will do well in slacks and a button-down shirt.

I stayed in Vancouver for a few months on a business trip. I noticed that at all but the fanciest restaurants, the common attire is jeans and a nice top, (as opposed to skirt and shirt dress).
