The jewel of British Columbia, Vancouver is a charming, picturesque city surrounded by water and mountains. Dress for the season to remain comfortable any time of year.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Carry-on Bags
  • Garment Bags
  • Luggage Sets
  • Sunglasses
  • Travel Clothes
  • Umbrellas
  • Walking Shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Backpacks
  • Duffel Bags
  • Umbrellas
  1. Step 1

Prepare for warm, mild summers. Between April and September the days stay warm, but the nights can get cool. Khakis, long shorts, long- and short-sleeved shirts, casual dresses, light sweaters and a fleece jacket for layering should suffice.

  2. Step 2

    Remember your sunglasses and sunscreen.

  3. Step 3

Pack for cool temperatures and wet skies during the fall and winter months. A warm coat, sweaters, a scarf, long pants, a lined raincoat and an umbrella are must-haves. Throw in gloves for safe measure.

  4. Step 4

Bring sandals and comfortable walking shoes to take in the sights during the spring and summer. Ankle boots and loafers with socks are wise choices for the winter months.

  5. Step 5

Dress up slightly for evenings on the town. Women will impress in a nice dress and flats, while men will do well in slacks and a button-down shirt.

Tips & Warnings
  • Bring a carry-on bag that includes all necessities - such as proof of citizenship, a change of clothes, all medications, spare contact lenses or glasses, all forms of money and any important documents - in case your luggage goes astray.
  • Pack to accommodate your needs. Leave superfluous items at home.

on 11/22/2005 I stayed in Vancouver for a few months on a business trip. I noticed that at all but the fanciest restaurants, the common attire is jeans and a nice top, (as opposed to skirt and shirt dress).
