No interest in the chat rooms you find online? Fix that problem by starting your own. It's easy!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Sign on to AOL.
Step2
Click People in the toolbar.
Step3
Choose Start Your Own Chat from the menu.
Step4
Select Member Chat if you want to have a room that's listed for other members to see.
Step5
Select Private Chat if you want an unlisted chat room that only people you tell will know about.
Step6
Type a name for your chat room.
Step7
Click Go Chat. That's it!

Tips & Warnings

  • Start a private chat room and have your friends "meet" there so you can all talk.
  • Name your chat room well, if it's a public one, so people will be able to find it. Be specific. "Beanie Baby Beginning Collectors Chat" is much better than "Beanies!"
  • Don't swear or use nasty language in a chat room anybody can enter.
