WebTV can do a lot of things a computer can do. Although there's no mouse, you can cut, copy and paste text.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • WebTV
  • Televisions
  • Internet Access

Step1
Go to a page with text that you want to copy and paste.
Step2
Press Cmd-A to select all the text in an area, or to select part of the text, press the Shift-Cmd-A key and use the arrow keys to narrow down the selection.
Step3
Press Cmd-C to copy the selected text or Cmd-X to cut the selected text.
Step4
Go to where you want to place the text (in an e-mail message, for example). Click where you want the text to begin.
Step5
Press Cmd-V to paste.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the Ctrl and Alt keys on a PC keyboard to take the place of the Cmd key if you don't have a WebTV keyboard.
  • Press Find on the WebTV keyboard to find and select specific text on a page, or press F11 on a PC keyboard and then choose Find from the pop-up menu.
  • Type in the text you want to find.
