How to Use the Spell Checker on WebTV

Before you send that e-mail, make sure you didn't spell any words wrong.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• WebTV
• Televisions
• Internet Access

1. Go to the Home screen.

2. Click on Mail.

3. Click on Write.

4. Type your e-mail message.

5. Click on Spelling when you're finished.

6. Look at the word that appears in the Possible Misspelling box.

7. Click on one of the words in the Suggested Corrections list if the right one is there.

8. If none of the words from the list are correct, erase the word and type the correct one, then click Change.

9. Choose Skip Word if you want the word left the way you spelled it originally.

10. Click Done.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also save a word the spell checker doesn't recognize by clicking Remember. The next time, it won't be marked as a misspelling. (This is useful for proper names, foreign words and slang.)
• Some words that are grammatically incorrect but are correctly spelled (your, you're) may not be caught by the spell checker.
