Most of my friends are Scorps. In my experience they are sensitive but will try and hide it until they feel safe with you. They will try to cover it up with a tough front because they are very vunerable people - this causes them to be often misunderstood. Once they let you in though and you really start to get to know them they will keep on surprising you with new facets of their personalities. They are extremely insightful and you can learn things from them that seem to allude most people, they are great to go to for advice. As far as their negative side it seems to me to be mostly BS that makes good reading, they are no nastier than half the other signs when provoked - it is easy to paint a sinister picture around a connect the dots constellation of a scorpion.
