How to Check Your America Online E-mail Away from Home

As long as you have access to the Internet, you can check your America Online e-mail wherever you are.

  • Internet Access
  • America Online
  • Internet Explorer
  • Netscape Navigator
  • Netscape Navigator
  • Internet Explorer
  1. Step 1

    Connect to the Internet and open up a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

  2. Step 2

    Type the following URL in the address bar: "www.aol.com."

  3. Step 3

    Type your screen name in the appropriate box (at the upper left corner of the Web page).

  4. Step 4

    Type your password in the next box.

  5. Step 5

    Click Sign In.

  6. Step 6

    Click "Please click here to complete the sign-in process."

  7. Step 7

    Click Yes in the box that asks if you want to continue.

  8. Step 8

    Click on the e-mail messages to read them.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can check your old mail and the messages you've sent from AOL too.
  • You can also download files you receive in your e-mail, write a new message or reply to an e-mail.
