How to Stop America Online From Sending Marketing E-mail

You may not be able to stop all marketing mail, but you can stop some of it. Set up your preferences in AOL to stop it from sending you marketing material.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Sign on to AOL.

  2. Step 2

    Click My AOL in the toolbar.

  3. Step 3

    Choose Preferences.

  4. Step 4

    Choose Marketing.

  5. Step 5

    Choose Email.

  6. Step 6

    Click Continue.

  7. Step 7

    Choose "No, I do not want to receive special offers from AOL by e-mail."

  8. Step 8

    Click OK.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also set preferences to stop AOL from giving your name, address or phone number to advertisers.
  • You can choose not to have the pop-up advertising appear on your screen.
