How to Create Your Own E-mail Stationery in Outlook Express
E-mail "stationery" is a colorful background template used to highlight your messages. Create personalized stationery in Outlook Express 5, the free e-mail program offered by Microsoft.

Start Outlook Express and choose Options from the Tools menu.

Click on the Compose tab. In the Stationery section, click on the Create New button; this will start the Stationery wizard.

Select a picture, border or background color in the background section. (Click Browse to choose an image from your hard disk.) Choose the best alignment and placement of the border or image. Click Next.

Choose the font, size, color and attributes of the font to be used in the stationery. Click Next.

Enter the top and right margin widths, in pixels, for the stationery. Click Next.

Type the name of the stationery and click Finish.

To automatically use your e-mail stationery in each message, place a checkmark next to the Mail box in the Stationery section. Choose the stationery and click OK.

To use personalized stationery, choose the stationery name when creating new mail.

Tips & Warnings
If you like the stationery someone else uses, open the message and select Save as Stationery from the File menu. Rename the stationery.
Some e-mail programs will not accept stationery; the recipient's mail program must be able to accept messages formatted as HTML. Check with the recipient before sending mail using stationery.
Use a minimum of images and/or colors in a stationery template. Adding images builds up the file size, which can result in a long download.
