Slow pages bog down a Web site and make viewers impatient. Find and edit slow Web pages quickly and easily with Microsoft FrontPage 2000.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Start the FrontPage program and open the desired web.

  2. Step 2

Click on the View menu and choose Reports. Select the Slow Web Pages Report, which lists each page and the download time.

  3. Step 3

Double-click on a page to edit it. You probably want to reduce the page's file size by cutting down on images, sounds, and videos.

  4. Step 4

Right-click on an entry to add it to the Task List.

Tips & Warnings
  • Other ways to speed up pages include splitting lengthy pages into two, using "shared borders" instead of adding shared logos to each page separately, and streamlining tables. You can also try using smaller graphics or video files, perhaps by trying different file formats and compression methods.
