How to Check Site Links in FrontPage

A user clicks on a link and goes to a dead page - or worse, nothing happens!. Avoid frustrating your visitors: before uploading your page, make sure all of the links are working! These instructions are for Microsoft FrontPage 98.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Connect to the Internet and start your Web browser.

  2. Step 2

    Start the FrontPage program and open the site to be checked.

  3. Step 3

    Open the Tools menu and choose Verify Hyperlinks.

  4. Step 4

    Choose Verify in the dialog box. The links will be verified and the results posted.

  5. Step 5

    Click Edit Link to correct any broken links. Choose Change All Pages with this Hyperlink or Select Pages to Change to make changes.

  6. Step 6

    Correct any broken links and choose Verify again to recheck them.

  7. Step 7

    Click OK when finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the View command to view internal and external hyperlinks on your Web site.
  • When pages have been moved or changed, choose Recalculate Hyperlinks from the Tools menu before verifying.
