Tips & Warnings
Background sounds start as soon as the page loads. Change the looping (repeating) properties by choosing Page Properties from the File menu and clicking on the Background tab.
FrontPage supports a variety of sound formats, including WAV (.wav), MIDI (.midi), AIFF (.aif, .aifc and .aiff) and AU (.au and .snd).
Search the Web for other sounds by typing "WAV" into a search engine, such as Yahoo! or Google, and visiting WAV sites. MIDI files are usually smaller than WAV files, but can sound different depending on which sound card a viewer is using.
It's best to add sounds to the web before adding them to a page (see "How to Import a File Into a FrontPage Web"); this ensures that all necessary files are uploaded to the Web when you publish the site. (If you use a file from your hard disk, you'll have to remember to transfer it.)
In FrontPage 97, use the Background Sound command in the Insert menu instead.
Make sure that you upload the sound file when you upload the page to your Web server.
Avoid using long background sounds in your Web page, since most sound files are large and make a page load more slowly. Also, people illicitly surfing the Web at work might embarrass themselves.
