Though not the most integral muscles for skiing, loose and relaxed neck muscles translate to a more relaxed body from top to bottom.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ski Equipment
  • Ski Gloves
  • Ski Jackets
  • Ski Boots
  • Ski Pants
  • Ski Goggles
  • Ski Hats
  1. Step 1

    Stand up straight.

  2. Step 2

Clasp your hands behind your back.

  3. Step 3

Drop your chin to your chest.

  4. Step 4

Roll your head in a clockwise motion 5 to 10 times - your ears should almost touch your shoulders as you rotate.

  5. Step 5

    Switch directions.

  6. Step 6

Tilt your head in the direction that stretches any muscles that still feel tight, if necessary, and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stretching your neck is important for skiing because you're constantly looking around to stay aware of your surroundings.
  • You can do this stretch easily on the lift before your first run, or while waiting at the bottom of the hill.
