Step 1
Stop and remove your skis or snowboard prior to approaching a waiting helicopter or one preparing to land.

Put your skis or snowboards in a pile and secure any loose clothing.

Crouch together in a huddle while the helicopter lands.

Cover your eyes until the initial snow blast subsides.

Grab the tip of your skis or snowboard ' keep them below your waist at all times ' and drag them low and behind you toward the helicopter.

Approach the helicopter from a level surface or from below, rather than from above.

Step 7
Remain in front of the door at all times to stay clear of the jet blast and/or the tail section of the helicopter.
