    Look for high quality rather than a low price, or you may end up with a bare-bones model without useful features.

  2. Step 2

    Avoid buying a super-lightweight harness as they have minimal padding, which makes them uncomfortable to fall in.

  3. Step 3

    Choose a model with sufficient padding but not one with massive amounts of padding designed for climbing huge stone monoliths.

  4. Step 4
