Calling all chocolate lovers! Here is Nestlé Toll House's take on a chocolate favorite. Makes about 49 pieces.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Groceries
  • 8-inch-square Baking Pans
  • Knife
  • Mixing Spoons
  • medium, heavy-duty saucepans
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 1/2 c. semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 c. miniature marshallows
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Step1
Line an 8-inch-square baking pan with foil.
Step2
Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in a medium, heavy-duty saucepan.
Step3
Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Step4
Stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips, nuts (optional) and vanilla extract.
Step5
Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted.
Step6
Pour into prepared baking pan; refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
Step7
Lift from pan; remove foil. Cut into pieces.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make milk chocolate fudge, substitute 2 c. milk chocolate chips for the semisweet ones.
  • For a butterscotch flavor, substitute 1 2/3 c. butterscotch-flavored chips for the semisweet ones.
  • Make mint-chocolate fudge by substituting 1 1/2 c. mint-chocolate chips for the semisweet chips.

on 7/7/2006 We like to add extras marshmallows on top of the fudge before it cools, and then drizzle some extra melted chocolate chips on the top.

on 11/22/2005 Put your chocolate fudge in the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch pan and then make your butterscotch and pour it on top. Then sprinkle mini Tollhouse chocolate chips on the top. Yum!
