- Chiropractic Journals
- Computers
- Online Career Search

Step 1
Obtain a college degree with a concentration in science courses such as biology, chemistry and physics. Although only two years of college work have been required in the past, most of the applicants for a D.C. now complete a four-year degree.
-
Step 2
Understand that the D.C. degree requires four additional years of schooling, with the last year spent practicing under supervision.
-
Step 3
Apply to any of the 21 chiropractic colleges accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE). Go to the CCE Web site (cce-usa.org) for further information about the field. Note that a few chiropractic schools have reciprocal agreements with liberal arts colleges that allow students to take their National Board exams for licensure a year earlier.
-
Step 4
Be aware that some states require you to take additional exams.
-
Step 5
Plan on taking continuing education classes every year to maintain your license.
-
Step 6
Consider additional training if you want to concentrate on a specialty, such as sports injuries, orthopedics or neurology.

on 9/1/2008 Do not listen to a few failed chiopractors. I net 300K per year in a small town. Get the facts at any large book store. Look at a job almanac or careers book, you will see that the need for chiropractic care will be greater than ever. talk with a chiropractor not an exchiro.

on 2/16/2008 I practiced chiropractic for over 5 years. It currently costs over $125,000 and 6-8 years of your life to practice. With the declining reimbursement (insurance money) and utilization (public usage) of chiropractic I can't urge your strongly enough not to pursue this dying profession. Recent graduates are making between $20,000 and $35,000 per year after graduation. If you do the math, you will never be able to live a normal life with that amount debt.

Don't take my word for it. Go to: www.chirotalk.proboards3.com or simply Google 'Chirotalk'
.
All proof is there. Read what real chiropractors are saying about chiropractic.
.
Consider this a warning.

on 11/22/2005 Visit all of your local chiropractors, choose one that you like and get your spine checked. This is the best way to interact with someone in the field and to help figure out if you want to be a chiropractor.
