Wash lenses daily with a mild soap and warm water to remove dirt and oil and avoid massive buildup.
Dry lenses with a lens cloth or nonabrasive cotton. Avoid using paper towels or camera lens paper.
Purchase a professional lens-cleaning cloth and lens gel (or spray) to remove fingerprints, dirt buildup and smudges.
Hold glasses by the eye frame with your thumb and forefinger of one hand. Use the other hand to gently buff the lenses in a circular motion. Do not press too hard on the lenses.

on 8/25/2007 I have scratch resistant lenses. I have on the go (for my hands) pads with rubbing alcohol--would that take off the coating?

on 5/1/2007 This is one of the best, if not THE best cleaning solution for glass etc I have ever tried. I happen to use this company's cleaner, Advantage Wonder Cleaner, http://www.advanage.com/?gclid=CIbupOD07YsCFRGCGgodsRp1VQ
To their spray bottle, I ADD 1 cupful of Hydrogen Peroxide to their diluted solution. I have never had a more streak-free window/glass/eyeglass etc etc before! It also is a great product for cleaning a myriad of household items. I am sure you can use a different cleaning solution...the trick is the Hydrogen Peroxide! It leaves NO streaks etc!!
