Spice up your nachos with this tasty recipe from the Ortega collection. Serves four to six people.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Groceries
  • Cheese Graters
  • Baking Dishes
  • Jelly Roll Pans
  • Chef's Knives
  • 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded mild cheddar or shredded Monterey Jack Monterey Jack
  • 4 c. (4 oz.) tortilla chips
  • 1/4 c. sliced jalapeño peppers
  • 1 3/4 c. (1-lb. can) heated refried beans
  • sour cream
  • chunky salsa
Step1
Spread beans over the bottom of a large ovenproof platter or a 15-by-10-inch jelly roll pan.
Step2
Arrange chips over beans.
Step3
Top with cheese and jalapeños.
Step4
Broil for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Step5
Top with salsa and sour cream.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try guacamole, sliced ripe olives, chopped green onions and chopped fresh cilantro on top of the nachos.
