Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Examine your body with an eye to changes in the size, shape and color of moles, blemishes and birthmarks.

  2. Step 2

Start by examining yourself in front of a full-length mirror. Check your body front and back, then raise your arms and check your right and left sides.

  3. Step 3

Check the back of your neck and your scalp. To do this, stand with your back to a full-length mirror, part your hair and lift it, and hold a hand mirror up to your head.

  4. Step 4

Study your arms and hands. Bend your elbows and check your forearms, upper arms, underarms and palms.

  5. Step 5

Examine your legs and feet. Sit down to check the backs of your legs and the soles of your feet, as well as the spaces between your toes.
