One of PageMaker's many enhanced features is the Rotate tool, which lets you rotate text and graphics on the page for greater design capability. Both PageMaker 6.0 and 6.5 include this feature.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • PageMaker 6.5 (Mac OS)
  • PageMaker 6.5 (Windows)
Step1
Select the Rotate tool in the PageMaker toolbar.
Step2
Point to the outside edge of the text or graphic you want to rotate and click to select it.
Step3
Point again to the now visible frame surrounding the text or graphic and drag in the direction you want to rotate the object.
Step4
Let go of the mouse button when you're satisfied. If you've over-rotated something, select it again and drag the other way.

Tips & Warnings

  • To rotate text and graphics together, select one element (either text or graphic), hold down the Shift key and then select the other elements. Select the Rotate tool to rotate the elements that you selected, or group the objects and then rotate them. (See "How to Group Text and Graphics in PageMaker," in the Related eHows, for instructions.)
  • To have more control over the rotation, hold down the mouse button and pull outward until you see a straight line stemming from the selected element to the mouse pointer. Use this line to help you control the rotation. The Rotate tool and the element that you are rotating must both be selected for this to work.
