PageMaker 6.0 and 6.5 provide horizontal and vertical rulers to make it easier for you to measure and place elements on a page. You can drag rulers across the page when you want to be more precise in positioning text and graphics. Then you can hide the rulers when you're satisfied with the page.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PageMaker 6.5 (Mac OS)
  • PageMaker 6.5 (Windows)
  1. Step 1

Go to the View menu and select Show Rulers or press Ctrl+R (Windows) or Command-R (Mac OS) to view rulers on the page.

  2. Step 2

Position rulers by using the Pointer tool. Point inside a horizontal ruler and drag downward into the document. Let go when the ruler guide is in the position you want. Do the same with the vertical ruler and drag to the right into the document.

  3. Step 3

To move the zero point of the horizontal ruler to the middle of the page, point to the upper left corner where the horizontal and vertical rulers meet, then drag to the middle of the page and let go.

  4. Step 4

Go to the View menu and select Hide Rulers or press Ctrl+R (Windows) or Command-R (Mac OS) again to hide rulers so they aren't visible on the page.
