You can create text for PageMaker 6.0 and 6.5 documents in a word processing application, if you're more comfortable typing in that application, and then import the text into your PageMaker document.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PageMaker 6.5 (Mac OS)
  • PageMaker 6.5 (Windows)
  1. Step 1

Open the PageMaker document you want to import the text into, or create a new PageMaker document.

  2. Step 2

Select any of the tools in the toolbar (although you may prefer to select the Text tool when importing text).

  3. Step 3

Go to the File menu and select Place or press Ctrl+D (Windows) or Command-D (Mac OS).

  4. Step 4

In the box that appears, navigate to the text file you want to import.

  5. Step 5

Select the file and click OK.

  6. Step 6

Position the Insert Text cursor (which usually looks like the upper left corner of a square with text in it, depending on the tool you selected in the toolbar) in the document where you want to insert the imported text, and click.

  7. Step 7

Edit, position and align the text as you want it to appear.

Tips & Warnings
  • HTML files will automatically import into the document after you select the file, so make sure you're already on the page you want it on.
