PageMaker makes it easy to insert graphics (drawings, clip art, and photographs) into PageMaker 6.0 and 6.5 documents. Graphics enhance the design of a document's pages and also can make complex information easier to understand.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • PageMaker 6.5 (Mac OS)
  • PageMaker 6.5 (Windows)
Step1
Go to the page on which you want to insert the graphic.
Step2
Select one of the three graphics placeholders from the toolbar and position it on the page; the placeholders are polygons containing an "X".
Step3
Select the placeholder that you positioned on the page.
Step4
Go to the File menu and select Place.
Step5
Navigate to the graphic file you want to insert in the document.
Step6
Select the file and click OK to place the graphic inside the graphic placeholder.
Step7
If the placeholder is too small to contain the entire graphic, resize the placeholder by selecting it, then dragging one of its handles outward.
Step8
Resize and reposition placed graphics where you want them to be located.
Step9
To resize a graphic, select it, then drag one of its handles (small boxes that are part of the selection box) outward to enlarge the graphic or inward to shrink the graphic.
Step10
To reposition the graphic, drag it into position on the page.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't select the graphic placeholder prior to placing the graphic, PageMaker automatically inserts the graphic on the page within the text flow.
