How to Edit Styles in PageMaker

By editing styles you've created in PageMaker 6.0 and 6.5, you can change the whole look of your document very quickly.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PageMaker 6.5 (Mac OS)
  • PageMaker 6.5 (Windows)
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Type menu and select Define Styles.

  2. Step 2

    Select the name of the style you want to change in the Style box and click Edit.

  3. Step 3

    Enter a new name for this style or use the same one.

  4. Step 4

    Select the style it will be based on.

  5. Step 5

    Click Character (Char) to select the font characteristics.

  6. Step 6

    Click Paragraph (Para) to select paragraph characteristics.

  7. Step 7

    Select Tab to set tabs for the edited style, if any are needed.

  8. Step 8

    Select Hyphenation (Hyph) to set hyphenation for the edited style, if hyphenation is needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • To apply the edited style, if you've given it a new name, select the text you want to apply the style to. Go to the Type menu and select Style. Select the edited style from the pop-out menu.
  • Keep a list of the styles you use and their characteristics for easy reference.
