How to Make Chocolate Chip Pie

Here's Nestlé Toll House's satisfying take on a classic baked treat. It's so easy, it's a great dessert for kids to help with! Serves eight.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 9-inch (4-cup volume) unbaked deep-dish pie shell
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • ice cream (optional)
  • sweetened whipped cream (optional)
  • Groceries
  • Electric Mixer
  • Knife
  • Large Mixing Bowls
  • Mixing Spoons
  • Wire Racks
  • Knife
  1. Step 1

    Beat eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy.

  2. Step 2

    Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar.

  3. Step 3

    Beat in butter.

  4. Step 4

    Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

  5. Step 5

    Spoon into pie shell.

  6. Step 6

    Bake in preheated 325 degree F oven for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between outside edge and center comes out clean.

  7. Step 7

    Cool on wire rack.

  8. Step 8

    Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Tips & Warnings
  • If using frozen pie shell, use a deep-dish style, thawed completely. Bake on baking sheet; increase baking time slightly.
