How to Make Pork Chops Breaded With Pumpkin Seeds

That Midwestern favorite, made elegant. Great for date night. Serve with spicy chipotle cream sauce (see Related eHow). Serves two.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

    Grind the pumpkin seeds in a blender. Set aside in a small bowl or pan.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare an eggwash. Place 1 egg and 2 tbsp. water in a small bowl or pan. Stir to combine.

  4. Step 4

    Pour a little milk in a bowl or pan. Dip each pork chop in the milk.

  5. Step 5

    Dip pork chops in the eggwash - first one side, then the other.

  6. Step 6

    Dip the pork chops in the pumpkin seeds - first one side, then the other. Don't forget the sides of the chops as well.

  7. Step 7

    Place the pork chops in a baking dish.

  8. Step 8

    Bake for 40 minutes to 1 hour, until cooked through.

  9. Step 9

    Pour chipotle cream sauce over the top. Serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the pork chops for doneness every 5 minutes or so after 40 minutes. Pierce them with a fork and knife. They are done when they are no longer pink in the center.
  • You can buy pumpkin seeds if you don't want to make your own (but if you do, see "How to Bake Pumpkin Seeds").
  • As an alternative, combine the ground pumpkin seeds with bread crumbs.
