How to Find a Stronghold in "Minecraft" for PC

Save

Finding Strongholds in Minecraft are necessary if you want to experience the later parts of the game. Not only does each Stronghold have an End Portal, which takes you to the Ender Dragon boss, but it also houses numerous chests containing valuable items. You can also use the Stronghold as a framework for making your base. However, Strongholds are located in a random spot underground, making it close to impossible to find unless you somehow run into one while mining. You will need the Eye of Ender item to lead you to the Stronghold.

  • Go to the Nether and head towards a Nether Fortress to find Blazes. Blazes have yellow skin and are capable of shooting fire.

  • Kill any Blazes you see and pick up any Blaze Rods that may they drop. Gather as many Blaze Rods as you can from fallen Blazes to improve your odds of locating a stronghold.

  • Return to the overworld and wait until nighttime. Look for Endermen mobs and kill them once you spot them. An Enderman looks like a black humanoid with purple eyes and have lesser chances of spawning at night compared to other mobs so you may have to wait for the next cycle and continue exploring to find them.

  • Pick up any Ender Pearls that are dropped by Endermen. Continue collecting Ender Pearls to further improve the chances of finding a Stronghold.

  • Go to your inventory and craft all of the Blaze Rods into Blaze Powder. Craft Eyes of Ender by crafting the Blaze Powder and Ender Pearls. Crafting these items does not require specific arrangements.

  • Use the Eye of Ender and follow it. Eyes of Ender leave purple particles that you follow. Continue using the Eye of Ender if it breaks and keep following it until you notice the Eye of Ender falling beneath the ground. Mine downwards to locate the Stronghold.
