How to Set Up GoDaddy Web Mail on an iPad

Save

You can set up any number of email addresses in your iPad's Mail app so that you can be sure you always have access to your important messages on the go. During setup, the device will prompt you for your email address and password so it can automatically configure the account's server settings. Custom email accounts like the one you use on your GoDaddy domain, however, might require a more detailed manual setup.

  • Navigate to GoDaddy's Email Setup Center site (link in Resources) and log in using your GoDaddy email address and password.

  • Locate the Messages Sent Today data in the General Information pane and ensure that you have SMTP relays available. By default, GoDaddy allows 250 relays -- or outgoing emails -- per day, but you can purchase additional relays if needed. To do so, log into your Account Manager (link in Resources), select "Email," click "Launch" next to the appropriate email account and then click "Buy More SMTP Relays."

  • Write down the server information displayed under "Email Server Settings" in the middle of the page. You can refer to the "Email Cheat Sheet," available on Apple's site (link in Resources), for the individual settings you will need to record.

  • Navigate your iPad to its Home screen and tap "Settings."

  • Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and then "Add Account."

  • Tap "Other" and then "Add Mail Account."

  • Enter your name, email address, password and a description of the email address that will be displayed in your iPad's account list. Tap "Save."

  • Allow your iPad to attempt to automatically configure your account and then tap "IMAP" or "POP" when prompted to begin manual configurations. If GoDaddy did not provide IMAP server settings for your email account, you will set up your account as a POP email account.

  • Enter the incoming server you obtained from your GoDaddy account in the incoming server "Host Name" field. Enter your full email address in "User Name" and then enter your email password.

  • Enter the outgoing server you obtained from your GoDaddy account in the outgoing "Host Name" field. Enter your full email address in the "User Name" field and then enter your password.

  • Tap "Save." Your iPad configures your email settings and loads any messages present on the server.
