How to Add Perspective in SketchUp

When you use 3D drawing tools such as SketchUp to create a model of your current house, dream house, office or any other building, you can create a lifelike drawing containing all the details that go into the building. If you want to make the drawing even more lifelike, you need to add some perspective to it. You can do that in SketchUp using the Position Camera tool, which will let you permanently position the camera so you can achieve the desired perspective.

  • Open your SketchUp drawing.

  • Click the "Position Camera" tool.

  • Press and hold the mouse button, then drag the cursor until it is positioned in the horizontal position you want.

  • Type a new "Eye Height" value in the Measurements toolbar. The eye height defaults to 5 feet, 6 inches. Type a height above the top of the drawing to give you a perspective view on the drawing.
