The Kinect unit itself doesn't have a volume control button because it's designed to integrate with your Xbox 360 software. Sound levels on both voice volume and game volume can be adjusted to make your Kinect sound better to you. Game volume adjusts how loud the game is during chat, so that you can still hear your friends in the midst of a match.
Turn on your console and sign in to Xbox Live with your gamertag.
Press the guide button. Use the thumbstick to scroll to "Settings."
Select "Preferences" and then select "Voice."
Highlight either "Game Volume" or "Chat Volume." Use the D-Pad to move the volume levels up or down. Click "B" to return to the main menu when you're done.
Tips & Warnings
- When an Xbox-compatible headset is plugged into the console, the Kinect microphone is muted and the volume changes will affect the headset, not the Kinecft.
- Changes made in Settings are only for party chat and private chat, not in-game chat.
- The steps in this article are designed for an Xbox 360 console with Kinect. Using them with other hardware or software may not work correctly.
