Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ski Clothing
  • Telemark Ski Equipment
  1. Step 1

Choose a price you can spend on bindings. Telemark bindings range from $70 to over $300.

  2. Step 2

Understand that the biggest difference in bindings is in the sturdiness and support they can offer.

  3. Step 3

Borrow a telemark boot and fit it into the binding you're looking at.

  4. Step 4

Make sure the boot is easy to fit into the binding and provides lateral support. This means it will be difficult to move the boot from side to side in the binding.

  5. Step 5

Check to see if individual parts of the binding are easily interchangeable and available if broken. For example, sometimes a cable or spring can break or bend.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are buying a binding for yourself, visit a shop at a resort and test different bindings to find the right one for you.
  • There are several new models out that click in and release similar to Alpine bindings. These models are the most expensive ones available.
