How to Remove HP Update Scheduler


The HP Update Scheduler is used to update any installed HP software. HP computers usually come with this update software installed. While it runs at startup and in the background, it may occasionally interfere with other programs or increase boot time. The updater is scheduled to run by utilizing the Windows Task Scheduler, so it may run at times other than boot. If you want to manually update your HP software or no longer need updates, you can remove the HP Update Scheduler.

  • Open the Start menu and select “Search.”

  • Click “Control Panel” from the list of apps.

  • Select “More Settings.”

  • Click “Programs and Features.”

  • Select “HP Update” from the list of installed programs.

  • Click “Uninstall.”

  • Follow the prompts to confirm you wish to uninstall. Wait for the software to completely uninstall.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also disable the updater or remove it from the Startup menu if you don't want to uninstall.
  • Do not turn off your computer during the removal. Doing so might corrupt the file, making it extremely difficult to remove.
