How to Unsubscribe From Magazines on the Kindle

If you're partway through a paper-free magazine subscription on your Amazon Kindle and decide to cancel it, Amazon's website includes a section for managing your subscriptions. You'll stop receiving new issues as soon as you unsubscribe from the magazine. Amazon assures that when you cancel a subscription, "a prorated refund for the remaining balance of your subscription will be issued."

  • Visit the Amazon website and log in using the account connected to your Kindle. Hover your cursor over the "Your Account" drop-down menu and select the "Manage Your Kindle" option.

  • Select the "Subscription Settings" option from the navigation panel's Your Kindle Account section. Click the "Actions" drop-down menu beside the content you want to unsubscribe from. Select the "Cancel Subscription" option.

  • Confirm the cancellation by selecting "Cancel Subscription" again in the popup window.

Tips & Warnings

  • Amazon suggests you save the back issues you want to keep on your Kindle; after cancelling your subscription, you lose the ability to re-download back issues. Save issues by tapping and holding it from your Home screen and selecting "Keep Issue."
  • Go back to the Subscription Settings menu on the Amazon website if you decide to reactivate a cancelled subscription.
